Two Years In…

VectorByte got started in the midst of the global pandemic. As such, many of our initial plans for activities, especially for training opportunities, have been postponed. Instead we’ve focused on back-end details: hiring staff; getting the website up; developing the beta-version of the VecTraits database and trialing a variety of data; digitizing nearly 25000 rows of trait data for VecTraits; getting an API implemented for VecTraits; developing a package for Bayesian fitting of thermal performance curves; and describing the existing ecosystem of vector data. We’re now ready to start reaching out into the world, and sharing our what we’ve been up to! Over the next few months we’ll be releasing lots of updates and new material. We can’t wait to share.
